| Busby - Vocals |
| The dubious know-it-all that shows no mercy to those who hear the incrediblosity of his bionic vocal implants. |
| Chris Lockett - Guitar |
| Guitarist, keyboardist, and composer Chris Lockett was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in suburban Maryland. As a youngster Lockett became fascinated with Parliament/Funkadelic after a neighborhood friend introduced him to the band’s music. He started playing piano at the age of nine, and took formal lessons on and off through his teenage years. From the beginning of his involvement in music Chris was composing his own songs. While in high school Chris performed with a number of area R&B, funk, and go-go bands. At college Lockett was exposed to wide variety of music, both in and out of the classroom. This included jazz, hip-hop, reggae, punk, "alternative" rock, electronic music, and African and Middle Eastern music. Inspired particularly by the guitar work of Prince and Bad Brains guitarist Dr. Know, Chris began to teach himself to play guitar. As he later gained interest in jazz Chris also began to add a warm, clean-toned, soloing style to his arsenal.
Some of Chris' influences include the aforementioned Parliament/Funkadelic, Prince, James Brown, Bad Brains, and also Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Henry Threadgill, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Mr. Bungle, Public Enemy and a number of other artists. |
| Mike Parks - Bass |
| An Alexandria native, Mike started playing bass back in junior high. His musical tastes are rather diverse and you’re just as likely to hear him listening to Black Sabbath or Uncle Tupelo in his car as you would Alicia Keys or Frank Zappa. After taking a hiatus from music, Mike started playing again during his senior year at JMU and has continued hold on to the bottom end ever since. Some of his previous bands have included The Bobby Jones Band, Ebb and Swerve. With the emergence of Chief Joseph, Froat has become a disciple of the groove and strives to keep the funk funky. |
| Bill Panagis - Drums |
| Bill Panagis, a DC-area native, began playing drums in the mid-90s. After drumming casually through college, he hit the skins hard ahead after graduation and hasn't looked back since. Bill has played in several funk projects in the DC area, most recently with Swerve, along with Lockett and Parks. He studied with Sean Rickman, which opened up his mind to new avenues of rhythm. Bill has been influenced my many genres of music including funk, fusion, classic rock, metal, jazz and electronica. |
